Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, we are fortunate to have newcomers that migrated into the United States in our classroom. These students are placed into homeless shelters as they await permanent housing. For many of these students, this is their first experience in a classroom setting, as they have been traveling to the United States for years. Due to minimal resources at their shelter, they are given minimal amounts of food and hygienic resources. Our students have been showing constant persistence and they are excited to be in school. They have been trying their best to acclimate into their new environment. We would like to ensure that our students have snacks to take home and supplies needed to help make them feel comfortable so they can be the best learners.
