My Students

My class consists of kindergarten. first and second grade students with special needs. Kindergarten and first and second grades are the foundation to education. Our students learn in many different ways using all of our senses and multiple intelligences. We use a wide range of techniques to help all the students succeed no matter what their level. Most of the students come from families from a low socioeconomic status, with over 80% of our students qualify for the free lunch program. Our school is also culturally diverse.

Our school is a caring community of successful learners, which can be seen through collaborative student, project based learning in and out of the classroom.

The students in my class love to work with hands-on materials and have many different opportunities to practice a skill before it is mastered.

My Project

My class consists of kindergarten, first and second graders. They are a deverse group of learners. They need hands on tactile learning tools to develop reading skills. These games and activities are not only engaging, but also give a strong foundation for early literacy. My students have special needs and are always looking for hands on materials. Using these materials will help lower their frustration level by using a multi sensory approach in learning. Our class is made up of many learning levels. These materials will reach all of those levels while keeping their interest. This will also foster collaborative learning within the class.
