My Project

I have been a teacher in Baltimore City public schools for 17 years. I love working with students and their families to build an academic and social-emotional foundation. My students enjoy coming to school for so many reasons. They want to learn, have fun, socialize with new friends, feel safe, be heard, and feel loved. I am so proud of all the progress my students make during the school year. Many students come having no prior knowledge or exposure to the skills we learn in class, and by the end of the year, they have mastered their skills and more. Having fun, visual, and engaging materials plays a big role in mastering Pre-K standards.

These materials will be used in whole group time, intervention small group time, and working as a group in centers (where they practice the skills taught during whole group).

These centers will help with socialization and other life skills. These centers will help students with sharing, taking turns, and working as a team. Math and literacy centers with help with practicing the foundational skills we are teaching in school to help them be successful in kindergarten. Students will also get practice with communication skills and using new vocabulary. The materials, including the food play sets and the kinetic sand, are very engaging and visual for all my learners who will be enrolled in my class. These materials will help my students master their pre-k goals and standards. We are building the foundations for successful and lifelong learners.
