Help Us Build a Library Where Lifelong Readers are Born

At our school, we serve a vibrant community of young learners, many of whom are English language learners or come from underrepresented backgrounds.

For many of my students, the library is more than a place to borrow books—it’s a safe space to explore, dream, and grow.

Right now, our shelves are filled with books, but many of them are difficult for my students to access. Rows of spines make it harder for emerging readers and visual learners to discover the joy of choosing a book that speaks to them. That’s where front-facing book bins come in.

With these bins, I can display books in a way that invites exploration. Cover art will catch their eyes, sparking curiosity and inspiring them to pick up a book they might not have noticed otherwise. These bins will make our library dynamic and engaging, creating a sense of wonder for even the most hesitant reader.

This project is about more than organization—it’s about fostering a love of reading. Research shows that students who fall in love with books become lifelong learners. By making books easier to find and more exciting to choose, we’re planting the seeds for a future filled with literacy, creativity, and success.
