Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are incredible individuals. They come to Adapted Physical Education ready to go. For many of them, this is the highlight of their day because it is one of the few times they get to be ACTIVE and have FUN!

These students each bring their own uniqueness and abilities.

Being in Brooklyn, NY there are many opportunities for so many; but my students face challenges that others do not yet they still want to be part of the community.

My Project

The requested material is necessary for my visually impaired and differently abled students to fully participate in Adapted Physical Education.

How do you teach a student to kick a soccer ball if they can't see?

Instead of having to vocalize the ball is coming it will be easier for the student to participate and practice with a ball that makes noise as it moves.

My students can be easily distracted. With that in mind, I have found it beneficial to use equipment that makes noise to keep their focus on the task.

Given the opportunity these students can continue to be healthy and active members of the community.
