My Students

I teach Grade 3 students at a progressive public school in Washington Heights / Inwood section of Manhattan. We share 55 students among two classrooms teaching our students through experiential learning. We use hands-on projects and STEM challenges that allow students to learn by actively engaging in activities that put their knowledge to use.

iPads will allow the students to create algorithms by dragging and dropping visual code blocks, which help them undersand what their robots will do, when and why.

Students can also program the robots to do multiple tasks.

My Project

The use of one iPad is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in STEM projects and Coding Club in Grade 3. By having one iPad, students will explore coding and robotics by exercising their critical thinking skills through programming and watch it come alive through robots called 'Dash and Dot' by Wonder.

By donating to our project, you will help my students develop the fundamental skills of collaboration, problem-solving and persistence through engaging, hands-on activities that enhance lessons in all subjects.

Our computer science curriculum focus is to inspire Grade 3 students by giving them tools to imagine and invent the future. One iPad will provide students with access to age-appropriate coding and robotics apps and encourage hands-on play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible.
