Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are seeking funding to provide forensic science equipment for our anthropology class, with the goal of offering our underrepresented students the opportunity to engage in hands-on forensic investigations. With the addition of these materials, students will have the chance to learn key skills in the field of forensics, which will not only broaden their educational experience but also inspire them to explore careers in science. The identifying skeletal remains kit will allow students to study human bones and practice forensic analysis, while the Carolina Forensics Mystery with Synthetic Blood kit will introduce them to crime scene investigation techniques. These tools will give our students practical, real-world applications of anthropology and forensic science.

Furthermore, these supplies will ensure students experience a realistic forensic environment, fostering a sense of professionalism and engagement.

These materials will enhance our classroom's focus on inclusivity, exposing students to a field where they are typically underrepresented. By incorporating forensic science into our curriculum, we aim to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, all while empowering students to see themselves as capable of succeeding in STEM-related fields. This grant would make a lasting impact by providing students with an invaluable learning experience that can inspire future academic and career pursuits.
