My Project

Forensic Science is an exciting field within biology. Students in my high school biology class will be exposed to DNA electrophoresis and fingerprinting techniques while applying their biology knowledge. By providing a hands-on experience for the students, they are more likely to recall the biology concepts needed to excel academically. The materials requested will provide my class with enough supplies to break up into five groups reducing the number of students around a lab table. This exposure to forensic science techniques will allow students to construct an interest in various career fields and possibly pursue a higher education degree that utilizes these techniques. Even though only 25 students will utilize the materials this school year, the equipment will be used in future classes.
