This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning never ceases to amaze me. They work hard every day, staying engaged with hands-on activities and games that help them practice their skills and increase their knowledge. I love giving them the tools they need to succeed. We are a low socioeconomic area and highly diverse school in Central California. Nearly all of my students' learning happens at school. Most of my students have not traveled beyond our city walls. We are a small school with a big heart!

My Project

This class set of "For Which We Stand, How Our Government Works and Why it Matters" will help me teach my students about our government and how to take civic action in our country in 2020 and beyond.

With many colorful illustrations and captions, this book is written in such a way that is highly accessible for all my students.

Students usually take government classes in middle and high school, but they are forming their opinions about the world now. My students care about our country. To quote the title, help me teach them how it works, and why it matters.
