My Students

My students and I have established a great rapport with one another. Some would even say that we are like family! Although some are new to my class this year, several have returned for another year of learning. This is easy to do for my students because they are with me for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade!

My students are surrounded by resources outside of school, but it's inside that matters too!

Students are with us for the majority of the day. While there is a heavy focus on reading and math, I want to tap into additional areas of student creativity by providing hands on learning through STEM!

My Project

My students are hands on learners for sure! What better way to satisfy their needs than implementing STEM based, hands on learning projects. Through this platform, the sky is the limit for my students. They can delve into another aspect of education and apply it to creating and collaborating through the use of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

There is way too much goodness in this one project relating to STEM activities!

Each and every resource included is sure to get conversations in STEM started and I can't wait to observe it all. The Tin Can Robots are not only teaching students about the benefits of recycling, but it assists students with working in groups. Then, they can create and build their own Tin Can Robot that moves! Talk about a cool science experiment that may possibly be one of the best classroom projects they have ever done!

It doesn't stop there! We are also looking forward to learning about the differences between kinetic and potential energy with the drag racing cars. Through this activity, students will be able to problem solve while learning about the scientific process! Still looking for a reason to fund this project? We're adding to our LEGO collection by including the Lego Scenery set. Students are not only able to design and build various types of environments, but they can also write about their environments to support goals in writing.

Hands on learning works really well with my group of students. The resources in this project have the ability to promote interest in the school science fair as well as produce possible careers in STEM! All we need is a little push to bring the magic to our classroom!
