Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in my class are very curious and eager. They come from diverse backgrounds. Their differences make our class community rich and compelling. They are kind and compassionate towards each other’s differences. They love helping each other learn. They come to school every day ready to learn and share what they know.

My students are very expressive about their thoughts and feelings.

They are not afraid to ask questions.

Many of my students do not have books at home to read. The books in our classroom are outdated which makes it hard for students to relate to. Some of the books are torn or missing pages.

Books is one of the ways for my students to visualize the world outside their own. Books bring them to places their family cannot offer to go and experiences they are not offered to have yet. Books allows them to use their imaginations in many possible ways!

Please help me provide these books to my students so they can begin their reading and writing journey.

These materials will provide visuals for them to start building words which they can transfer to their own writing.

Reading books at their level will foster confidence and motivate them to become enthusiastic readers and writers.
