Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Kindergarten in California. My students come to school eager to learn and they are fascinated with books.

It is not surprising to see my students eager to go read a book in our classroom library. After a while students begin to ask me when I will be adding more books to our classroom library. Hearing that my students want to get their hands on more books is wonderful.

My students will benefit from having a wide array of books to add to our classroom library. They include four sets of non-fiction books, that they can open up to explore the animal kingdom, animal habitats, landforms, and ecosystems. In another non-fiction set students will be able to learn about cultures, people, and places around the world. My students will also benefit from having classics such as: Brown, Bear, Brown What Do You See?, The Cat In the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, The Three Little Kittens, and Five Little Monkeys. Their learning will be further enhanced by the use of story props, an apple pointer, and the CD that comes with a couple of the selections.

You will make it possible for my students to have the much needed books that will enhance their learning, but best of all you will help them develop their love of reading!
