Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the problems that my community faces is that are a lot of stray cats and dogs in the animal shelter. We want to show our appreciation by making posters, thank you cards and give snacks, toys, blankets to an animal shelter. The students will be learning about different animal shelters and how they help out. It will also share ways children can be active, responsible, and conscientious members of the community. Encourage children to be active citizens and help them understand that everyone plays an important role in the community. The students will be learning how animal shelters help the animals in our community.

Help my students give back to the community by providing food, toys, snacks, and blankets for the cats and dogs in the animal shelter near our school.

I will ask for a school visit that teaches kindness, develops empathy, and cultivates compassion toward animals, people, and the natural world. Getting firsthand stories and advice from a community helper is a great way for my students to become more active and knowledgeable about the community.
