Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.

The goal for this year is to know what compassion is, practice compassion, and spread compassion to all that we interact with.

We will be reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacios and will close read to understand the underlying message of compassion and kindness that the book is drenched with.

I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore, this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way, which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.

This year is full of new learning and new beginnings!

My Project

Being cooped up in their homes or in front of the screens for the last 2 years my students have returned to school hungry to learn! Sadly my classroom library for my eager readers is outdated.

Early readers search for graphic novels which are appealing to the eyes as well as their imagination.

They don't feel intimidated by all the words on the page but are inspired to imagine!

I would like them to enjoy reading and give them fuel to fire up their imagination. Graphic novels is what they want and need!
