This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hunger affects learning by curbing a child's physical development, inhibiting their ability to focus and perform, and limiting their future achievements. I created this project to acquire snacks to store in my classrooms. I am a special education teacher and I often find that my students have missed meals, or simply have a long way to go between my class and their lunch periods.
Food insecurity is an ever growing issue within the community I serve.
So it is my hope to be able to provide a nutritious snack to any student who may be facing such insecurity in support of their success in my classroom.
