Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Teaching in the inner city has its own set of issues we have to deal with. One is food insecurity; most students live in a food desert. A food desert is when you do not have a grocery store nearby. These snacks in the morning will help get the students to lunch with something in their stomachs.

As many teachers will tell you, it is very difficult to teach a hungry student; try teaching half a class on a Monday who has not eaten much since Friday afternoon and is distracted by their hunger.
