My Students

Students at my exceptional high school come from all walks of life with a wide range of academic and creative abilities. My students are enrolled in a Foundations in Programming course which is an introduction to basic coding and computer science. I also sponsor a robotics program at our school.

My hope is to encourage students to explore Computer Science and Engineering at an early age in the hope that they will gravitate towards these much in demand, high paying jobs.

Students at my school are extremely motivated and we have some awesome Career Academies to help give students a taste of different careers. I'd like to see more students think of Computer Science as a future career!

My Project

My students come from all walks of life. The past year has been tough on everyone and we are doing our best to keep a sense of normalcy in our schools and classrooms. We have begun before and afterschool programs, so students can resume extracurricular activities and clubs. At times, this results in a long day for students. I sponsor a before and after school robotics club. My students are learning how to program their robots, an exciting and hands on way to integrate computer science and engineering. Our club/ team members will also be participating in competitions, away from our city. Often, my students forget to pack snacks and hygiene items for themselves.

I am requesting snacks and sanitization items to provide my students with nourishment afterschool and during competitions, so they are always ready to engineer and program.

Students love competing and winning and competitions and robotics practice can involve long and exhausting hours. A small snack can go a long way in keeping them going.

As we work on computers, I'm also requesting some disinfecting wipes to keep our devices sanitized. As we head into flu season, I'd like to keep my programmers healthy. These supplies will be stored for easy student access, along with the snacks in the drawers requested. Thank you for keeping my students healthy and well nourished!
