Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The middle school students I work with come from all different backgrounds. Each one of them desires success; many just lack the tools and support needed to break through the barriers they face. My students have an amazing deal of resiliency and drive.

My Project

Being dehydrated and without substance (food) decreases brain functioning. Many students at AJB live below the poverty line, oftentimes leaving them hungry due to not having sufficient food at home.

With a donation of snacks, AJB will be able to help fuel students both physically and mentally.

These snacks will help take away students' thoughts of hunger so their thoughts can be refocused on academics and learning, whether their learning takes place at school or home.

Students come to be by the hour stating they are hungry and requesting food/a snack. These supplies will help me assist those students with "food for thought".
