Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech-language teacher providing services to pre-k students with impairments to their receptive and expressive language skills. Pre-kindergarten is such an exciting group of inquisitive students who are learning various skills through structured play, songs, story-time and hands-on activities.

I love the fact that my tenacious yet witty pre-schoolers keeps on my toes.

This is a crucial period in which my little ones are learning to develop basic life skills, early literacy skills, appropriate pragmatic language, auditory comprehension and so much more.

My Project

My little ones are very energetic and love to engage in hands-on educational activities. However towards the end of the day, their energy significantly decreases which affects their ability to stay alert and maintain focused during speech therapy.

Food for thought: Healthy snacks not only nutritionally boost children's body and mind but also help enhance their academic performance.

My students will benefit from having healthy snacks in order to provide a boost in energy, stimulate brain power and keep them alert in order to conquer any academic challenges thrown their way.

According to an article, "Tools for Healty Eating," young children's stomachs fill up fast and they burn energy quickly, therefore snacking "gives their growing body the nutrients they need." Snacking also helps maintain energy levels throughout the day and increases their ability to focus.
