Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hunger is a detriment to learning. It distracts kids and keeps them disengaged. It's not something to simply waved away with 'pay attention' or redirection. And, for these students, class becomes a torturous wait, just counting down the minutes till lunchtime. Most of my students are from low income and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, who depends on free lunch, it becomes a much bigger problem. But they still try! By paying attention and participating, these students make an effort to ignore their growling belly and focus on gaining more knowledge!

Your donation of these snacks will go a long way in filling their hungry stomachs and, in effect, reward them for putting effort into their learning.

These kids have worked extremely hard to get to where they are in their academic path despite the things that try to distract and hold them down. That's what we want to see, that's what I want to encourage in my students.
