My Students

The students in my integrated classroom are all wonderful and eager to learn.

Our school is a Title One school which has nearly one thousand students from various and similar backgrounds, all of our students are struggling to receive the best education possible while dealing with the circumstances of living in a poor and overcrowded school district.

A typical day in my integrated collaborative teaching classrooms can be very demanding. I am constantly on my feet all day. My days are spent constantly reteaching and redirecting my students' behaviors, collaborating and co-teaching to meet the academic needs of each individual student and giving out rewards.

My Project

We are a Title I school with a poverty rate is very close 100%. What is more, many students complain about being hungry or working in the classroom with no rewards each and every day. Rewarding them with snacks and they eating them are the two most important life essentials needs for my students to build self-esteem, curve negative behaviors and replace them with positive strategies and rewards. We are using snack as a bigger part of their Positive Behavior Intervention and Support reward system. For this reason, we are requesting an inconceivable assortment of snacks that can be eaten during breaks in the school day and as a rewards in our PBIS school store. I have requested an assortment of snacks like granola bars, juice, and water. These snacks will greatly impact my students. At the end of the school year our students will become more mild mannered and more healthy. The students will be able to say thank you to donors and stay on task.
