My Students

Our is located in the busy hustle and bustle of Downtown, New York City. Students travel from all five boroughs to attend our mid size school. Our school is more than an institution, it is a community with students from all the backgrounds that make New York the cultural hub of the world. Students who attend our school are interested in studying Business education, but they are also passionate about art, theater, publishing, etc. At our school we are proud to be able to connect with outside organizations that truly give students a taste for life and the future opportunities that wait for them as they continue on their educational path. Our school is a Title One school which means that many students come from below the poverty line. None-the-less, our school boasts some of the highest graduation rates in the city for Title One schools because both our teachers and our students are serious about education. With all the success, there come many hurdles along the path that are not unique to our school, but indicative of the difficulties that come with trying to navigate the world as a teenager in a city that demands so much.

My Project

My students are eager to meet all the expectations, despite the overwhelming obstacles that face them on a daily basis. Students are constantly asking staff for food and water, and love it when teachers are able to give them a snack. Help create small moments of joy for my students by providing them with nourishment when their energies are running low. Whether it is sitting around the table at a joint meeting with teachers to discuss school improvement projects, or a quick snack that helps quell that hunger that sneaks up on you at the end of the day, we can all agree that a snack can turn the day upside down!
