Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in my English classes are students who are part of an Alternate Assessment program where they attend high school however and not in a diploma program. These students have a variety of challenges and this is often their first time being exposed to music, theater, stage performance as well as production.

My students have put on several productions and learned to memorize their lines, create sets, develop the choreography, and the overall art of theater.

the green table runners would look great during the Emerald City Scene. The fans would be wonderful for an interactive experience between the audience and the students. My vision is to have the audience become the tornado. The posters would really help shape my classroom into a beautiful environment dedicating the students to the craft. The tapes would be a huge help because it would allow for me to help students find their placement on the stage so they can look amazing! All of the props and backdrops would really prove to be a huge help to make this dream come true!

When the performance comes to the stage it's the greatest feeling to see them performing for the school, teachers, administration, and especially their parents. Often their parents have not had the delight of seeing their child perform or take part in a school performance. This really develops their self-esteem and self-efficacy.
