My Students

I teach Math to both 6th and 8th grade students. My students are used to taking on a challenge. We use an investigative approach, where students discover the mathematics concepts by applying their prior knowledge and looking for patterns.

My students are scholars, applying what they know and expanding their knowledge.

For some of my students, learning math takes a little extra work and support. Some are overcoming learning difficulties, language barriers, and external factors. Nonetheless, they come to school willing to try!

My Project

As our students are learning math by doing the math, we often have the problem or student findings projected. Some of my students can become overwhelmed by the length of some of these problems, or the sheer amount of information.

The spotlight will help students focus in on what is relevant at the moment.

Students will be able to zero in on one part of a problem at a time and better be able to complete a task. The spotlight will help students not to be overwhelmed, but rather take it step by step. As they succeed, they will realize it wasn't so bad and gain more confidence in Math!
