This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is exciting to be teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry to emerging mathematicians during my first year of teaching. In math, organization and engagement are key factors for student success. My goal is for students to have individual folders they will use in class to empower students to take ownership of their learning.

The folders will act as personalized learning hubs, enabling students to easily access and review their resources, fostering a sense of accountability and responsibility.

The folders will revolutionize how my students approach their learning by serving as catalysts for organization, allowing each student to have a dedicated space to store their class materials, handouts, and assignments.

In geometry, students will be engaging with many polygons throughout the course, and having stencils for students to use will ensure students create course notes that enhance their learning. Having their own set of materials is important for students to focus on their math learning rather than their access to materials.

By supporting my project, you will impact the academic math growth of my students, providing them with the necessary tools to actively engage with mathematics and showcase their learning through a personal, dynamic, ever-evolving folder. Your contribution will create an environment where students thrive, unlocking their potential as they embark on a journey to grow their organized, engaged, and successful STEM identities.
