This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic and curious preschoolers who need a lot of social-emotional support after having reduced social interaction during the pandemic. While I teach in a general education class, I find that many of my students have unique needs that require tools to support their need for sensory stimulation and increased attention during large group and small group times. This includes color printed visuals as a resource for all children, but especially those learning English as a second Language or following a behavior intervention plan.

My Project

My group of 4 year old preschoolers is a general education classed filled with children who have unique interests and needs. Many of my students need tools to help them stay engaged including color-printed resources and visuals, designated seating, and sensory stimulation from hands on materials and tools. All children benefit from these supplies, but they will be extremely beneficial to those needing extra behavior support, learning English as a second Language, and those seeking more sensory stimulation in their daily routine. These tools will help my preschoolers stay engaged in lessons and greatly reduce challenging behaviors in the classroom.
