Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

I teach half of the 5th graders at my school. Our students come from many backgrounds, mostly low socioeconomic status. 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
More than three-quarters of my students come from low-income households.
Through their hardships, we still see how eager they are to learn and contribute to their own success. These students have always shown dedication and persistence and I want to continue to provide a safe, comfortable, and engaging classroom for them to learn.
My Project
These materials will play a huge part in staying focused and being persistent in our classroom. The timers will be a wonderful tool for students to take initiative in math fluency, time science reactions and more.
Year after year, students use earbuds that stop working and the wires break from continuous use.
This causes students to go without earbuds and compete to hear their own laptop while learning in a class full of headphone-less students. The Sony headphones below will withstand daily use and will encourage independent and focused learning for each student while using laptops. These can easily be wiped down after use so any student can use them.
