My Students

My students are apart of District 75's Special Education Program within the NYS Department of Education. They are a great group of kids who are eager to learn and participate. They are team players and try to look out for each other. They have an awesome sense of humor and I appreciate that they make me laugh throughout the day. My kids are a great group of curious readers. They enjoy going through the chapters and details as a class and most of all we love books that have been made into movies. We love to read out loud together as a class and we often read and act out plays allowing us to show our creativity using different accents and voices and imagining being in a different setting place and time with each story.

My Project

Teaching in a D75 school with children with special needs makes me realize that every second of my day counts and that I must always be prepared with not only lesson plans but projects that will keep my students focused on educational tasks even when our lessons are complete for the period. The items I have chosen are excellent tools to use as rewards for students who have finished their work and are in need of something to ensure that their down time can still be utilized as fun and educational experience while I can still maintain the continuity of the classroom assignments. STEM related activities like the LEGO Speed Champions and LEGO Boost Creative kits in my cart are an excellent way to keep our kids on top of the latest in Science and Technology lessons and to have a creative and educational outlet for those with ADHD or other focus related diagnosis. Along with the DAZHONG Remote Control Building Block Robot , Melissa & Doug Deluxe Collection Wooden Bead and Klutz Lego Chain Reactions Craft Kit.
