I work in a self-contained school with children with autism and a variety of other severe disabilities. My class contains 6 students with autism age 5-8. My students are non-verbal and need help with most activities. Each student in my class has different needs and works on their individual goals daily. I work one on one with the students to help them meet their goals. One to one work is effective but very difficult for my students. Children with Autism have a hard time focusing. Background noise and activity make it impossible for my students to concentrate. I need panel dividers to give my students more privacy while they work. These dividers will help me to block out any distractions and keep my students focused on what’s important. In addition I am requesting Velcro, magnets and timers to make materials to help my students focus. Having a quiet place to work will help my students to learn as quickly as possible. These items will serve my students and many more to come.
