Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in an ICT classroom as a special education teacher and focus on the parallel model. Flexible seating will help my students stay comfortable in the other side of the classroom where we do not have a carpet. It will allow them to recognize their own space and be more mindful of bumping and keeping their belongings near them. While we do have stools and some students are able to sit at their tables, many of my students are on the floor. Another part of this project that will help me bring my students close to understanding concepts is a Whiteboard that can shift from standing to a table. While using it as a standing whiteboard, all of the students will be able to work alongside me on their own boards as I teach them. When I have the whiteboard set as a table, the students whom I call for a small group will all be able to write on the board and see what others are doing. It will also allow me to complete step by step and see if the students are truly following along rather than just writing the answers on their boards.
