Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Science can be challenging for many students, often leading to feelings of unease or anxiety. To help alleviate these feelings and create a more welcoming environment, I am committed to fostering a classroom where every student feels seen, understood, and supported.

Introducing art supplies like beads, paint, and clay will provide students with creative outlets to express themselves, helping to reduce stress and make learning more enjoyable.

Additionally, a bookshelf will enhance our "Care Corner," a dedicated space in the classroom where students can retreat to when they need a moment of quiet or want to check out a book. This reading space will be a cornerstone of our classroom’s support system, providing a sense of comfort for students.

Fidgets will be available to help students with anxiety stay focused during lessons. Snacks and water will help students who may need a quick boost to help them concentrate. Additionally, a portable projector will be used to present lessons in a more engaging and visually stimulating way, helping students to focus better and stay connected. By incorporating these elements, I aim to foster an environment where students can be themselves & know that their academic and emotional needs are seen and valued in our classroom community.
