Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have multiple disabilities and at times need assistance engaging with their senses. These sensory toys will help them relax, focus, and calm down to a scenario, assignment, or event. These bouncy bands and sensory stress balls will be used by my students when they are anxious. The sensory toys will help develop social learning skills such as planning and sharing. The stimming from these toys can help soothe the students and act as a stable center that can help them organize the information they are receiving.

Sensory play will motivate learning through curiosity, creativity, exploration, and problem-solving.

It helps to build nerve connections in the brain while encouraging the development of language and motor skills. LEGO building toys offer a simple, predictable, and repeatable activity that can be accomplished alone without assistance thus allowing the students to feel a sense of accomplishment.

My students are exceptional, fun, loving, and gifted individuals. Each one of them brings their own unique personality and character that makes my classroom a place where each and every one of them is provided the opportunity for them to be themselves. In my class, we strive to ensure that all our students are equipped with the tools necessary for them to succeed.
