Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sensory and fidget toys can be beneficial for students in a number of ways. For some of our friends who need more support with fine motor skills, playing with a sensory toy can be useful in building skills.

Utilizing sensory toys can help students develop focus and build concentration skills to help filter out extra sensory information.

Fidgets can help children relax and regulate their bodies and minds. Some kids thrive off of having tactile input to help them process information.

While fidget toys might be common in many households now, our goal is to ensure that when a child is feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just needs something to focus on having these on hand will help defuse what could be a situation where a student feels more frustrated.

Many of our students come from low income households and sometimes shared households where it can be challenging to focus on academics. Little things that can make their life easier, make them smile, and help them feel more successful can make a giant change in a student's feeling of self worth.
