Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a low-income neighborhood in Houston. They attend a Title 1 school. They work very hard to accomplish their yearly goals. As their teacher, I do my best by providing them with differentiated instruction, with materials to target their individual needs.

This year I will loop with my former Kindergarteners to First Grade and be departmentalized teaching Math and Science.

Although this year will be a new experience for me, I would like to provide them with all of the fun Math concepts to help many of them transition back from learning virtually from home and back to the classrooms.

My Project

One of our first-grade goals is to master fluency. My students have been working hard in combining sounds to form syllables and words. Now, they are ready to take their knowledge to the next level.

We would like to take advantage of every second that we have during the day to practice achieving our goal.

These easy grab-and-go resources can be used as we transition from our classroom to the restroom, to other classrooms, to the cafeteria, during arrival and dismissal procedures and of course during our guided reading work stations.
