Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you were 4, and your mom and dad couldn't come to your school events because they had to work?

I teach 20 amazingly curious pre-kinder students in a low-social economic community.

More that 98% of our elementary school population participates in the free or reduced lunch program. Most of my children's parents have to work just to meet the families basic needs.

My Project

I need a flip video camera so that I can video tape my students families reading to the class or sharing a family tradition. This way they parents can still participate in classroom activities even though they have demanding work schedules. I will also be able to video tape school events, so the parents can see what their children do and become more active in their child's education and still work.

A donation to this project will greatly increase parent participation in my classroom!

It will take their homes into the classroom and their classroom activities into the student's homes. This project will help link the gap between school and home and make a richer learning environment.
