Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Henry David Thoreau was exactly right when he said “The world is but a canvas to the imagination.” Help my students use creativity to better understand their core curriculum.
My students are all extremely bright and creative.
They are motivated and desire creative outlets to aide their learning. The school is located in one of the highest poverty areas in the United States, and a very large percentage of students receive free lunch.
I am very impressed with my students diligence and motivation. Between 10 and 20 students come in early every morning to get some extra time to perfect their projects. These cameras certainly will not go to waste.
My Project
I am requesting 2 video camcorders. I have already purchased some on my own, and have had 3 flip cameras donated. These cameras will allow more students in my Media Design classes to work in groups to create educational and inspiring video productions. They will use advanced techniques to develop their abilities to persuade others of their point of view.
Specifically, these video cameras will allow my digital media design students, and other students at the school, to enter a local film competition. The technology tournament aims to provide teachers with ideas to integrate technological ideas into everyday teaching. My students will create a public service announcement video as well as produce their own documentary on a relevant standards-based topic.
These cameras will give my students additional creative opportunities.
I teach middle school students, and I truly believe that giving them relevant real-life experiences will broaden their horizons. Thank you for donating to this project.
