Flexible Seating/Reading Nook

Help me give my students a cozy place for them to read and collaborate. Last year parents/guardians/community members started our classroom reading nook, and now I want to fill up deflated beanbags and provide more comfortable seating options.

My Project

These items will make a difference in the learning experience of students because all students deserve an environment to read for pleasure and collaborate with their peers. Students are asked to sit at the same type of desks for the hours they are in our school building. However, when they are trying to read for longer periods of time, it is important to be comfortable and have a choice of where to sit. Last year, parents/guardians/community members came together to provide this exact thing for my students. This was a great success and students were so grateful when they got to read in beanbags and on seat pads. They were so well loved that they have deflated, so I have requested new filler. I have also requested seat pads so all my desks have one. The big ticket item is the futon which will bring excitement to students. I hope this project continues to grow until I have a classroom with completely flexible seating options.
