My Project

Having flexible seating in a classroom can help some students focus better than sitting at a desk. Students with ADHD can still wiggle without distracting others in the classroom when using bungee chairs.

I hope that, with the help of DonorsChoose, I can provide comfort to my students in school during this challenging time.

I would like to set up an area where they can sit to do independent work and read silently. It should be comfortable enough for learning and for a moral boost. I know I feel more comfortable lounging when I read than sitting at a desk.

The standing desk will be used when I am teaching the students and when the students are presenting projects to their class. My room is on two levels. My work area is on the top level with the boards and student desks on the lower level. Having the ability to adjust my teaching and student's presenting locations is crucial to the student's attention. Without the standing desk students use the corner of a desk or hold their materials when presenting.

Mrs. Hayes will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by Wednesday, May 7.
