My Project

Flexible seating is important especially in a kindergarten classroom where students are sitting at tables all day. Flexible seating gives my students the opportunity to move around the room and sit somewhere other than their table to complete work. It also gives my Students the opportunity to move their seat if they need to be more focused o their work with less distractions around them.

Flexible seating is imperative because it helps keep kids who made need to be more focused on their work closer to the teacher or in a space where they don’t feel like their peers can distract them.

Currently we only have 2 of these seats in our room and they are a popular item in our classroom. Students love that they have the option to sit on the carpet and compete their work rather than sit at their table where they can sometimes be unmotivated to work.

This also takes away the stigma of student who need more support being “seated at the back table with three teacher” as the teacher can now have her group more comfortable at the carpet not the back table where students can feel left out or more attention is brought to them.
