Help me give my students the supplies they need to be successful in the classroom following social distancing guidelines. The lap desks will allow for flexible seating and storage for materials.
This year, I have the joy of teaching 25 goofy, creative, and inspiring 4th graders. My school is 100% reduced-price/free lunch and has the highest homeless population in the district/city. My students have faced many obstacles at a very young age and often come to school unprepared.
I have fallen in love with this job and want to make sure my students have everything they need to be successful and reach their big dreams.
Due to complex trauma, lack of resources, and other environmental factors, the majority of my students will enter 4th grade below grade level in math and reading.
My Project
Due to COVID all teachers are being asked to keep students 6ft apart during class. In order to better facilitate learning these lap desks will be used to free up space in the classroom. There will be space to move around the room and it will also help with running groups during math and literacy. Each student will receive one of the book bins so that they can have their own collection of books as we are no longer allowed to have a classroom library. My class and I would be so incredibly grateful for these resources.
