My Students

My students come to school ready to learn. Having different and engaging materials in the class encourages them to explore. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. My students attend a small, urban elementary school in a mid-sized city. The majority of kids in the school are eligible for free or reduced priced meals and typically do not have access to a great deal of technology. Aside from the lack of resources, my students have a great enthusiasm for learning.

My Project

My kindergarten students are energetic and eager to learn! Our day is packed full of activities and lessons in all subject areas! While our day is busy; and the students are expected to focus and work hard throughout the day; they are only 5 and 6 years old.

Having flexible seating options for our classroom will help students get their wiggles out and have other places in the room to sit and learn.

Our classroom currently has a few options of flexible seating such as scoop chairs and floor spots. These new flex-space floor seats would offer my class of first graders another option of a place to learn and work.
