Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a public school located in the South Bronx, 38% of the students live in shelters. The school is a mixture of language and background. The building is Prek-5th.

I teach at a Title 1 school where 99.9% of students receive free lunch.

My classroom is a mixture of I.E.P. students and English Language learners. My project is for Flex Space Comfy Floor Chairs. I am trying to create an environment whereby students can learn based on their needs and comfort level.

My Project

These seats will allow my students to build stamina for longer periods of focused reading. By allowing some free choice and movement while in centers and small group students will be excited to focus on the tasks in front of them.

Flex Space Chairs are important in a diverse classroom.

These chairs will allow all levels of learning to occur in the comfort of our classroom. I want my classroom to be inviting, just like home, this way there is a joy to learning within my classroom. Reading is important no matter what your native language is, that is why these are so needed in my room.
