This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are incredibly special people. They all share a love of learning and deserve so much. Some of my favorite things about them include their positivity and excitement to learn. They have taught me more than I could have ever hoped for.
They have endless questions, huge imaginations, and creative, kind hearts.
Many come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Many of my students are first or second-generation immigrants. Most of my students speak Spanish.
They are incredibly understanding and forgiving people. When I make a mistake, they always assure me that it is okay. Overall, my students are some of the most kind, understanding, and thoughtful people I think I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with.
My Project
There are a few students in my class who have a difficult time staying seated while learning something new or working on classwork. With two standing desks my students would have the ability to stand at an appropriate level desk and do their work without distracting themselves or others.
With standing desks in my classroom, my students would have flexible seating options, giving them the opportunity to work in their best environment.
Some of my students do their best work while standing up, but at a regular desk they are either hindered by being seated or are hunched over their desk while standing. With a few standing desks the students who need it could greatly benefit from this option.
