Flexible Seating

Help me give my students flexible seating. We have two hour blocks of classes, and kids need to move. The wobble seating will help kids focus while they can move in their seat.

My Students

I teach a very diverse group of students that travel from all over Los Angeles to be a part of our school. They are the youngest at a span school that goes all the way through high school. They are energetic and motivated. They love learning and trying new things! Many of them wake up extra early to ride a bus to SOCES. It would be great to give them more ways to move around the room. I co-teach with a wonderful resource teacher to fully include our special education students in a general education classroom. I also teach a reading lab with many English language learners.

My Project

Students will be able to move while they work. It is really difficult for many students to sit in a traditional chair all day in school. With your donation, I will be able to give my students other options. Some can bounce while they work, releasing some energy, and helping them focus. Others can sit on a cushion or a wobble stool. I have a couple of these items in my room now, and they really help. I'd love to be able to help even more of my students. Many sit on the bus for over an hour just to get to school, then they are expected to sit the rest of the day.
