Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a low-income, title one school in the Bronx.

I have 22 students who are kind, eager to learn, and full of energy!

Despite the many challenges I know my students are facing at home, each child comes to school jumping with excitement to learn. They can't wait to get into the classroom and begin their day. I try my best to create a nurturing environment where students are engaged and feel comfortable to take academic risks.

My Project

As adults, my students are uncomfortable sitting in hard chairs all day long! Since we stay in one room for most of the day my students are often fidgety and need their own space.

Flexible seating will allow my students to get comfortable in the classroom, keeping them calm and focused.

When children are comfortable in their classroom they are more likely to be engaged, make academic growth and be more successful.

I plan to use these seating options by allowing my students to choose a new seat & space where they would like to work. Help me make my students more comfortable in their classroom!
