My Students

Students in my classroom come from a range of economic and familial backgrounds. Our school, and most importantly our classroom, is a tight knit community.

Our school is an AVID campus, incorporating a variety of best practices both inside and outside of our four classroom walls.

We focus on teaching life skills through social emotional learning and believe that all students have the potential to be college bound. Our school is also fortunate enough to have a STEM lab. We utilize the lab several times a week, which has been a powerful tool in allowing students to learn through inquiry and collaboration.

My Project

Seating options will allow students to increase their focus instructional time. Students who thrive on physical movement and have difficulty staying focused will benefit from the ability to move as they learn. Benefits of wobble stools also include improved posture and a healthy lifestyle. As we work to incorporate a wide range of seating options in my classroom, students reap the many benefits of flexible seating and become more motivated.

Students will be able to use wobble stools as part of a flexible seating option, teaching students to self regulate and allowing for movement to become a part of their learning.
