Flexible Seating to Promote Ownership, Responsibility, and Comfort!

Help me give my students flexible and comfortable seating. Tables and chairs allow for students to move around easily, without being tied to a single desk spot each day.

My Project

This is the place where I describe my students to you, so you feel drawn to funding my project. But here's the thing, I don't truly know my students yet.

Even though I can't tell you about my incoming students, I can say with certainty what I know to be true about all the 3rd graders I've worked with: they will rise to our expectations.

Many of the students that walk through our classroom doors each day carry so much unseen weight with them. I can never take away the stressors my students deal with outside of school, but I can work hard to create the best possible school experience they could ever hope for.

I have created a project that that includes tables and chairs. I have been working to source furniture this summer because I want to move back to the flexibility and community that tables allow. One of the changes I had to make during the pandemic was switching out tables for desks. I miss the warmth of students sitting together in a shared space that promotes healthy socialization and collaboration. I have decided to ask for help in creating a dream learning environment for my students.

These tables and chairs will create a stunning space that will be the perfect backdrop for many years of creativity, growth, and exploration.

Tables and chairs don't guarantee a successful school year, I know this, but I also know what sort of an impact a beautiful space can have on a person. My greatest wish as a teacher is that our physical spaces were as inspirational as our students deserve.
