My Students

Do you do your most creative thinking while sitting straight up and down in a hard chair all day? My students definitely do not! I would like to give them more choice regarding where to work in the classroom so they will be more comfortable and engaged!

My class is made up of 25 third graders, all of differing backgrounds and abilities.

They are eager, energetic, and a delight to teach! Our school is located in a small town outside of central Ohio. We have many kids on free and reduced lunches. All of these kids deserve the best we can give them!

My Project

These items would allow my students to move flexibly around the classroom instead of sitting in their seats all day. When students are given a choice of where to sit that is comfortable, they are more engaged! I have already started using clipboards and small pillows around the room and the kids love it. They are able to spread out, find a comfortable spot, and focus on their learning. The wobble chairs would be especially helpful for my students with ADHD that need movement constantly. Instead of trying to wiggle in their chair (and sometimes falling off!), these students can sit in the wobble chair and move back and forth without being distracting. The wobble cushions and bilibo seats are portable and would allow students to move around the classroom and find a comfortable working space. Lastly, the supply caddies and lap trays will ensure that students have all of the materials they need while working around the classroom!

My students will be more comfortable and will be given plenty of choices daily. These materials will help to meet the different learning styles of all students in my classroom!
