Flexible Seating to Fuel Makerspace Collaboration

My students need bean bag chairs and stools for flexible seating choices and common meeting areas that will help fuel collaboration during robotics challenges. Seating should be comfortable enough for sustained meeting periods and close enough to the floor to complete work.

My Students

I teach Computer Science (CS) in Queens, New York. Our school is a special place with a rich composition of children from diverse backgrounds, particularly serving a large population of English Language Learners and students with disabilities. Many of our students come from families that face financial hardships that limit accessibility to technology. We are actively working to close the Digital Divide through CS instruction and work with donors will help ensure equitable access to technology tools for all of our students.

All children should be exposed to rich STEAM and Computer Science learning opportunities despite socioeconomic or cultural background.

My Project

My students enjoy working in small groups to solve big problems and would benefit from comfortable floor seating to engage them in the process. Flexible seating would support an inviting space where our children can meet to work on project based learning and allow collaborative conversation to flow.

The bean bag chairs and stools we need would allow students to work low to the ground for special STEAM projects involving hands on robotics for extended periods of time.

Comfortable seating would not only create a more inviting work environment but encourage increased focus on the task at hand. Your help will make a huge difference for all of the students who share our school's Computer Science related Makerspace.
