Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to have their own choice of where they learn and work best in our classroom. When students enter the room every morning they choose a location in our classroom where they would like to work for the day. Currently, students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as the sofa, on beanbag chairs, laying on the floor with clipboards, and on high-top tables with stools. The project I have created will go towards purchasing comfy floor seats, with adjustable back supports. Allowing more flexible seating options in my classroom to give students choice.

Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component of motivating them.

I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating within the classroom. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed when given the choice of seating.
